Working From Home Advice and Work From Home Schedule

With a little bit of working from home advice you can make the advantages of working from home vastly outweigh the disadvantages. The main key is to approach your home based business with the right mind-frame and focus. I have been working full-time from home since June of 2004 and I would like to pass along some working from home advice that will help you be more successful as you launch or continue your own home based business activities. Along with how to approach and manage your business, I will teach you how to stay organized at work and how to create a set work from home schedule.

To start off let's just list out some of the
advantages of working from home: set your own hours, be your own boss, answer to nobody but yourself, 100% control of the business, schedule flexibility, no limit to time off or vacation, more family time, save time by not traveling to work, save gas and money by not traveling to work, not limited to a pay scale or pay raises.

A few potential disadvantages: Non-ability to focus on work due to what else is going on around the house, pay for own health and life insurance if the home based business is the sole income of the
household, more pressure to produce the income necessary to pay bills and save for the future if the home based business is the sole income of the household.

Working from home advice - Keys to successfully working from home
Plan on working hard - Don't believe the hype. Search engines and portals, especially with respect to the internet marketing and work from home arenas, are littered with false promises of easy work and big bucks. I'll let you know right now that it takes hard work and dedication to run a successful home based business whether it's based 100% online or partially offline.

Get organized at work - This applies to both your work environment and your business plan. Set up a home office where you are least likely to be bothered during your work hours. Develop a blueprint or step by step outline for the projects you are going to be working on.

Stay organized at work - Keep the clutter out. Spruce up your home office once a week and eliminate extra papers and files that build up and you have no need for. Stay focused on your projects and minimize the potential to get sidetracked. Modify or adjust your blueprint or business outline as necessary.

Take action - Like Nike says: Just do it. It's so easy to get caught up in reading information about internet marketing and working from home. Information overload can be a big problem and a serious
prohibiter when it comes to getting your home based business off the ground. The bottom line is you don't have to worry about doing everything perfect as there is no perfect way of building an internet
business. With that said you don't want to totally wing it. Go back to your blueprint or outline and knock out the first steps to get the ball rolling.

Make progress - This plays off the previous key of taking action. Once you have the ball rolling make the ball roll faster and faster. Think of a snowball. If you keep pushing the snowball it's going to grow exponentially larger and larger. That's how you want your business to grow. So keep the clutter out and don't worry so much about what the latest and greatest internet marketing e-book has to say. Stick to your plan and make sure you continue to take steps on a daily and weekly basis. There will be time later to go back and read up on any new marketing ideas that come out.

Set a work from home schedule - Try to work the same hours every single day. A set schedule makes things more consistent in terms of your mind-frame and your family life. Don't get in the habit of working whenever you can get on the net or of jumping on the computer after the kids are in bed(unless that is your set work time). Give yourself a break too. Take the weekend off or at least one day per week. I have been guilty of getting out of my set schedule many times and it's not cool. Set a work time and stick to it. It will make things easier on you and your family.

Get enough sleep - Don't overlook the importance of getting enough sleep on a nightly basis. This is another area where I have been guilty of staying up too late working on stuff only to be non-productive the next day. Get your sleep and your work will be waiting for you the next morning. This goes back to having a set work from home schedule and staying on that schedule. Don't run yourself into the ground. Your body and mind needs proper rest and it will pay off in terms of progressing your home based business on a daily basis.

Have confidence - Believe in your business plan. Carry your plan all the way through. Building a home based business is not a get-rich-quick scenario like so many internet marketers will have you believe. It takes time to build your way to a full-time income and most people never get there because they give up due to a lack of patience and determination. Stay confident and passionate about what you're doing. See your plan all the way through and then keep going.

The working from home advice outlined above will give you the right mind-frame if you are looking to start or grow your own home based business.
