2) THE WEEKLY 5
Note: The weekly 5 does not change. It's the same every week. It's just a quick reminder to do these important things:
1) Work Hard - It takes dedication and hard work to run a successful internet business.
2) Stay Organized - Keep the clutter out. Stay focused on your projects and minimize the potential to get sidetracked.
3) Make Progress - Stick to your plan and make progress on a daily and weekly basis.
4) Be Consistent - Work the same hours every single day and get the proper amount of sleep.
5) Be Confident - Believe in your business plan and carry it all the way through.

3) AFFILIATE MARKETING ARTICLE: MY INTERNET BUSINESS
Since this is the first issue of Affiliate Weekly I want to give you an idea of where I'm at with my internet business, how I got to this point, and where I plan on taking my business over the next 6 months.

I started my internet business back in 2004 with a plan to target areas that were in line with my interests and my knowledge. About 8 months into my business I got sidetracked with a business model that brought me some immediate success. I decided to roll with that business model for about the next year and a half. I put all my energy into it, built a website to teach other people what I was doing, and ended up making a solid income for the year 2005. I thought I was over the hump and was even considering re-launching my original projects I had started back in 2004. Unfortunately in the spring of 2006 the business model I was involved with got turned upside down and I ended up getting out of it for good.

I kind of spun my wheels throughout the rest of 2006 bouncing back and forth from one project to another. In early 2007 I decided to wipe the slate clean and start my internet business completely over. No more trial and error projects. Get back to my original intention of targeting areas that interest me. Build a blueprint and follow it all the way through. I started off with two full-blown content-based websites in areas that I was knowledgeable in. I liked the initial results and in August of 2007 I mapped out what I was going to be doing for the next year with the goal being to take everything I had learned since 2004 and apply it to my new projects. You see up to that point I had written and sold my own ebook, built four large content-based websites, had two serious forays into Google Adwords marketing, ran two weekly newsletters, and spent countless hours and days learning about running profitable websites with plenty of trial and error on my part. It was time to put it all together and build myself a solid internet business based around real products, real services, and my knowledge. In essence I wanted to take my interests and turn them into my business.

Fast forward to present day and I'm close to achieving my goals. I've got four large internet projects online, all within areas that interest me. There are some loose ends to tie up. There is more content to get online. There is much more marketing to do. The rewarding thing for me is that things are starting to gel together and I expect my business to be rocking when the new year hits.

To summarize the style of my current projects, I can say that the websites I design and manage provide quality, interesting information with sound affiliate marketing principles and content-based ads weaved in for monetization purposes. I started my online business in 2004 with zero web design skills and zero internet marketing know-how. While I more or less spent three years trying to find my way, I was able to gain valuable experience that is making my current projects successful.

I can save you time and money by getting you on the right internet business path from the get go. Within this newsletter and my website I will explain what has worked for me and what hasn't regarding web design, affiliate marketing, and general internet business operations. The website will basically end up being an A to Z of what I'm doing to run a profitable internet business. The idea is to take my affiliate marketing knowledge and share it with other people who are trying to build a legitimate online business.

Thanks for taking the time to read this issue of Affiliate Weekly. Enjoy the rest of your week.
